TECHNICAL DETAILS

Traction refers to the set of mechanisms for strengthening broken bones, immobilisation or relieving pressure on the skeletal system. They are used to treat fractures, dislocations and long-duration muscles spasms, and to prevent or correct deformities. Traction can either be short-term-as at an accident scene or long-term- when it is used in a hospital setting.

Directions for use

Cling on to the bed of the patient.

Adjust the height of the pulley as per requirement by using the knob provided for fixing the same.

Pass traction rope through the pulley before fixing the ‘S’ shaped hooks at both ends.

Fill the weight bag with water or sand as desired before hooking on to the traction rope.

Use the spreader bar to connect the traction brace/belt with the traction rope.

Indications

Used as an apparatus for suspending weights, fixing pulley belts so as to facilitate traction
