GENERAL DETAILS

A leg traction is usually used to treat shaft fractures of the femur (thigh bone). It is used when only the femur is broken without any other injuries to the leg or pelvis.

Directions for use

In lying down position, place the leg within the stirrup attachment

Ensuring a gap of at least 1″-1.5 “ between the foot and stirrup

Fix the traction belts on either sides of the leg

For additional reinforcement apply the cotton strip.

Starting from the ankle work upwards with 50 % overlap

Pull the cord and apply the weight at the end of cord by using a bed traction pulley/ apparatus

Indications

Used for both above and below knee application after injury and surgery
